Live updates: 2024 Men's College World Series (2024)

We'll have a first-time Men's College World Series champion in 2024 after Tennessee and Texas A&M both clinched berths in the finals on Wednesday, June 19. See the championship schedule and how they got there below.

The clinching moments

Tennessee 7,Florida State 2

Tennessee defeated Florida State 7-2 to advance to the championship series of the 2024 Men's College World Series. It's the second time the Volunteers have made the finals in program history — and the first time since 1951.

The Volunteers took a 3-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back. Tennessee boosted the lead up to 6-0 by the seventh inning stretch before Florida State got on the board late. Tennessee's pitching staff allowed only seven hits in the game.

No program has more wins over the last four seasons than Tennessee, and now the Volunteers will have a chance to add a title to support those successful seasons.

Texas A&M defeated Florida 6-0 to win advance to the 2024 Men's College World Series finals.

The Aggies jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning, forcing an early Florida pitching change. Meanwhile, excellent pitching from Justin Lamkin for the first five innings kicked off a shutout effort. Lamkin had nine of Texas A&M's 14 strikeouts in the win.

On offense, Texas A&M had six hits, adding a late ninth-inning run from Ali Camarillo after he led off the inning with a triple.

With the win, Texas A&M will play Tennessee in a best-of-three series for the 2024 MCWS title. Regardless of who wins, we'll see a first-time champion crowned.

A two-rbi home run in the sixth inning from Caden Sorrell pushed Texas A&M's lead to 5-0.

A ground-rule double from Gavin Grahovac brought home another runner to give Texas A&M some insurance in the game's later stages.

We've seen an excellent pitching display from Justin Lamkin through four innings. He has eight strike outs so far and has only allowed three hits with a walk — even getting out of a bases loaded jam. As a result, Texas A&M still leads Florida 2-0.

Florida pitcher Liam Peterson struggled early, walking four of his first five batters allowing a run to be scored. After a pitching change to Fisher Jameson, a fly out brought another run home. Meanwhile, Texas A&M pitcher Justin Lamkin went 1-2-3 with two strikeouts in his first inning. The Aggies lead 2-0.

A spot in the MCWS championship series is on the line as Texas A&M battles Florida. See the starting lineups below

While Tennessee added a run in the top of the seventh, Florida State's bats came alive in the bottom of the inning. The Seminoles hit back-to-back home runs from Daniel Cantu and Alex Lodise to cut the deficit to four.

A triple from Christian Moore in the fourth inning added another run for Tennessee, which is now up five runs after four innings.

The latest run comes after Moore was the scoring run in the second inning to put the Volunteers up 4-0. Defensively, Tennessee pitcherZander Sechrist has allowed only two hits through four innings.

Tennessee grabbed an early 3-0 lead after runs in the first inning in the Men's College World Series. Florida State got only one runner on base — due to an error — during the first inning.

Undefeated in Omaha, Tennessee takes on Florida State with a chance to advance to the MCWS championship series. A Seminoles win would force theif necessary game tomorrow.

The Gators end Kentucky's first-ever trip to Omaha and earn a date with the Aggies in tonight's semifinals. Florida's 15-4 victory was highlighted by a seven-run first inning — which included a Donay grand slam — and a Caglianone homer in the sixth to set a new Florida all-time home run record at 75. Tonight, Florida will take on Texas A&M. The Gators will have to beat the Aggies twice.

The Florida star solidifies his name in the Florida history books as his left field bomb sets a new all-time home run program record, surpassing Matt LaPorta’s 74.

Caglianone's 75 career home runs are tied for the most among active players with LSU’s Tommy White and are the third-most by a single player in SEC history.

The Gators have been relentless at the plate and are showing no signs of slowing down. Brody Donay launched the ball well over the fence with an exit speed of 118 MPH for his second homer of the day. Thats the hardest-hit ball in the 2024 MCWS.

Then, a Shelnut bunt scored Caglianone, who stole third to get in scoring position before a Heyman double brought Shelnut back to home plate. A Wilson two-RBI single to right field capped off the inning to give the Gators a 10-run lead.
