The teachers and counselors had to be the best part of my experience with California Virtual Academies in Los Angeles. I had an amazing experience and everyone there truly cared about me and my success in that school as well as beyond.

I've been a part of CAVA for all of my schooling life. The best part of my experience is the convenience that an online school offers and CAVA-LA is a school that doesn't compromise academics for flexible schooling. My least favorite part of this school is the lack of social interaction, but through student-led clubs and teacher-hosted events, I have fostered relationships with my peers and classmates. I would like to see a change in the quality of social interaction, as sometimes schooling can feel rather isolating. Again, though, the education I have received here has been phenomenal, and I've been able to tally up several different extracurriculars alongside my academic achivements.

The best part is working in a safe and communicative environment that will help me with anything from homework to college readiness.

My overall experience in CAVA was amazing the teacher are always very helpful and kind. Being at CAVA allowed me to work on hands on projects. They taught me how to be a leader, the teams I was in were always active and tons of positive energy.

Hello! My experience whilst being a student at California virtual academy has been overall positive. My school allows be to work mostly independently. I have my live sessions during the day, and independent online work after. This has allowed me to gain independence skills in some way.

My experience with California Virtual Academies has been a great experience so far. The teachers are great at teaching their lessons, and the help with those lessons are great as well. The school provides a lot of resources to help you succeed, which I find amazing. The faculty is great at answering questions and giving outside resources they would think that will help you succeed. On top of that, I've been able to learn better since I do my learning on my own structured time.

I started my journey with CAVA in 8th grade. As the global pandemic started, I watched my friends struggle with virtual learning because their schools didn't have the resources to teach online efficiently. However, CAVA can teach and give its students the opportunity to accelerate their learning in a virtual setting. After talking with students who have already graduated from CAVA and started their post-secondary journies, I find that this school better prepares students for college/university compared to other high schools with the resources it shares with families. I am a part of the CAVA2College program, which has helped me earn college credits in high school. Not only has this saved me money on college classes, but it has given me a taste of what it's like to be a genuine college student.

My experience at California Virtual Academy has been wonderful. Primarily, CAVA offers a wide variety of courses that are not available in traditional high schools, enabling a richer learning experience where students can pursue very detailed academic interests. Also, teachers are very professional and knowledgeable, and my personal experience with them has been great. I am very glad to be receiving my high school education from this amazing program, and I feel very well prepared for college.

I love the ability of having and controlling my own time as a student. But one negative is my lack of connection with the teachers or other students because my learning is based on a computer.

I am very happy with my experience at CAVA. I have opportunities that are not available at a traditional school and I am very grateful for that.

The best part of CAVA LA was that it offered a chance to be able to partake in many of my extracurriculars and not need to miss out as if I was in a public school setting. What I wish would change (and I believe is the not-so-great experience of the school) is that there weren't many chances to connect with classmates because of the lack of social outings (like dances or prom).

It was nice being able work at my own pace while having substantial help from my teachers whenever needed. I felt I had a lot of freedom to work at my own pace and I feel this helped me gain a lot of independence as a student well before my high-school days were over. Overall a very good experience for my and my learning style.

I started at California Virtual Academies at the beginning of my sophom*ore year of high school. Leading up to the first day of school, I was very nervous about being in a new environment. I feared that I would not be able to adjust to the curriculum or learn how to use the online school platform. This adjustment was the hardest part, however, as time went on things got more manageable. By the second week of school, everything felt like second nature. Another worry of mine was the social aspect of online school. I assumed it would be tough to build connections with my fellow peers, but given CAVA's variety of extracurriculars this was not an issue. Having access to ASB, NHS, AP Courses, Honors Courses, and Clubs is one of the best features of CAVA. I had access to regular public school opportunities while being able to do them in the comfort of my home. I am incredibly appreciative to have been able to experience high school in such a unique way!

This particular school is contributed to K12. I have enrolled in CAVA since my Freshman year, therefore it has been a total of three years. My favorite year from CAVA was in my Freshman year. Despite that this is a online school, the staff and teachers are pretty friendly and are not there to just help the student, but the parent as well. If you look into the homepage of CAVA, you will see many reviews about how it benefits many parents and from my experience, it is no lie. No purchase required, the enrollment is pretty simple. If you are more used to technology and usages of computers or you just want to go to school and still feel right at home, I recommend this school.

What I enjoyed about California Virtual Academies is that they had a stable system to work, learn, and complete homework. They also offered many different opportunities to grow in my future and career like with computer science and Microsoft office classes. Changes I would like to see for my school is more involvement with online class sessions.

Moved to this school becaus of issues with the school in our district. It’s awesome!! My child gets a lot more rest with the schedule and the work is not overwhelming, just right. She can also make sure that she eats her meals on time, have long breaks in between work, and do work on time since you do arrange your own schedule around the live sessions you have in each day (which isn’t difficult at all!). This school is great for high school students and staff are kind & understanding.
