I don’t typically post personal things on LinkedIn, this time I thought I’d share to help explain why I haven’t been the most responsive this week. Last Saturday I learned that my mom passed away. I’ve been on such an emotional roller coaster coming off of the high from InfoComm, winning HEAV’s AV Pro of the year award and the success of HETMA’s Education Summit and the booth plus my panels and sessions going well. Then finding out about my mom and the resulting outpouring of love from friends and family, especially my higher ed colleagues, my Charm City Roller Girl/Derby family, old neighborhood friends and my RIT friends, especially my sorority sisters. I am so grateful for all of the support.

Over a week has passed and I had been trying to think of the perfect things to say… but alas the words are not coming so I’d rather say something than nothing….What an incredible honor to be named AV Pro of the Year by Higher Ed AV Media! I'm truly humbled and grateful to receive this prestigious recognition. It was wonderful to have my Husband there to share in my success. The world of audiovisual technology is my passion, and I feel so fortunate to work in a field that allows me to combine creativity, technical expertise and leadership every single day. This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of not just myself, but my entire team (KIT-CATS @ The Johns Hopkins University), HETMA and all of my #AVFriends. I want to thank my colleagues for their unwavering support and collaboration. You all inspire me to raise the bar higher each year. I'm also deeply grateful to our industry partners and the educational institutions we serve - your trust and partnership motivate us to deliver exceptional AV services and solutions.Most of all, thank you to those that nominated me for this incredible award. It will serve as further fuel for my drive to innovate and push the boundaries of what's possible in the Higher Ed AV vertical.
